New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday unveiled the model of the National Memorial dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The memorial will be built in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
During the ceremony of unveiling the model of Neta Ji’s Memorial in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, PM Modi expressed hopes that it “will now infuse yet more patriotism in the hearts of the people.”
“2019 also saw the inauguration of a museum dedicated to Neta Ji from the ramparts of Red Fort. Also, in West Bengal,there were great celebrations on Neta Ji’s 125th Birth Anniversary. The whole nation celebrated it with a great vigour,” he added.

The PM also paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas on his 126th birth anniversary.
He said, “Today, on Parakram Diwas, I pay homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and recall his unparalleled contribution to India’s history. He will be remembered for his fierce resistance to colonial rule. Deeply influenced by his thoughts, we are working to realise his vision for India.”

“Parakram Diwas”
India observes January 23 as Parakram diwas every year on the birth date of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose to honour his indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation.
The Government of India declared Netaji’s birthday as ‘Parakram Diwas’ to insoire the nation, particularly the youth, to work for the nation as Netaji did. Meanwhile, the state government of West Bengal has announced to celebrate Bose’s birth anniversary as ‘Desh Nayak Diwas’.
Born in Cuttack (present-day Odisha) on 23rd January, Netaji drew his inspiration from Swami Vivekanad and other ideals. He founded the Azad Hind Fauj to fight against the Britishers for gaining freedom. His millitant approach also proved as a significant factor to get freedom from British rule.
