Mumbai (Maharashtra): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar will not be able to join Congress leader Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ owing to his poor health condition.
On October 31, the NCP chief was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai owing to his bad health. As per the officials, he was likely to get discharged by November 2 but the doctors have suggested him rest for at least 3-4 weeks.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “NCP chief Sharad Pawar is in hospital, Rahul Gandhi and I talked to him. The doctor has recommended a 3-4-week rest. Hence, Sharad Pawar will not be joining the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ tomorrow. Aaditya Thackeray will join tomorrow.”
The NCP chief was scheduled to join the foot march tomorrow (November 11) along with Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray.
Meanwhile, NCP’s prominent faces including Jayant Patil, Supriya Sule and Jitendra Awhad will join the foot march today.
Today, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has resumed ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Loha town in Nanded district. Gandhi will halt briefly at some places during the procession to interact with people.
