Rival Gangs In Udupi Face Off In Brutal Street Fight, Caught On Camera

Six people were involved in the incident. Police said two of them have been arrested and four are absconding

Udupi: A man was injured in a fight between two groups in Udupi, a coastal city in Karnataka. Tonight, a video of the incident, which happened on the night of May 18, went viral on social media. Six people participated in the fight. 

According to the police, two of them were arrested and four escaped. The fight broke out over a financial dispute, police said. A cellphone video taken by a resident of an apartment building near the scene of the fight showed two Maruti Swift cars involved in the incident.

One of the cars slowed down and hit another hood. Black smoke came out. Soon, the men got out of the two cars and bumped into each other. During the incident, one of the cars hit the stick holding the man. The impact threw him to the ground where he lay injured.

A Karnataka Doctor also posted a video on X

“Very bad situation. Gang war in Udupi. An incident happened recently late at night, two gangs fought near Kunjibettu on the Udupi-Manipal highway. Where will the younger generation go? Strict action should be taken against all these culprits,” said orthopedic doctor Dr. Durgaprasad Hegde in a message.

Police said they had formed a search team to find the four fleeing men.
