Republic day traffic advisory: The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued a traffic advisory in view of today’s complete dress rehearsal of the Republic Day parade.
A total of 23 tableaux, including 17 from states and Union Territories and six from ministries and departments, will roll along the Kartavya Path during the Republic Day parade on January 26 as the nation prepares for the 76th Republic Day on Thursday.
The full dress rehearsal march in the nation’s capital will begin at Vijay Chowk at 10.30 am, according to the Delhi Police’s issued advice, and will thereafter proceed towards the Red Fort.
The police have developed elaborate traffic arrangements and limits for the orderly conduct of parades in Delhi.

The march would proceed from Vijay Chowk to Kartavyapath to the “C” Hexagon to the Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to Tilak Marg to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg to Netaji Subhash Marg in order to reach the Red Fort, per the Delhi Police’s published instructions.
From 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, till the procession is over, traffic on Kartavyapath from Vijay Chowk to Indian Gate and cross traffic on Kartavyapath from Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road have both been prohibited by the Traffic Police.
It also stated that vehicles will not be permitted to go in either direction on the Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg, or Subhash Marg beginning at 9:15 am today till it crosses a Tilak marg.

“Road users are urged to make early plans for their trips and steer clear of Parade from 0930 to 1300 for their own convenience. It is recommended that commuters use the Metro service as much as possible while making travel plans within and outside of New Delhi ” it said.
