The Government of India runs various schemes for the benefit of its citizens, with millions of people benefiting from these initiatives. To assist such individuals, the government provides support under the National Food Security Act, offering subsidized and free ration to eligible citizens. This scheme is implemented in all states of the country. But recently, the government has issued new guidelines to get the benefits of schemes.
However, not everyone can avail of the free ration benefit. The government has set certain eligibility criteria, and only those who meet these criteria are entitled to the benefits. To receive ration, the government issues a ration card.
Now, the government has issued new guidelines for ration cardholders. According to these guidelines, only certain ration cardholders will be able to receive the benefit. From February 15 onward, those who do not comply with the new regulations will not be eligible for the ration facility.
The government has mandated an e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process for all ration cardholders. This means that every ration cardholder must complete the e-KYC process. Those who fail to do so will not receive any ration.
The e-KYC process is being implemented to identify fake ration cardholders and remove them from the scheme, ensuring that only the genuinely needy individuals continue to receive the benefits. If you haven’t completed your e-KYC yet, make sure to do it soon.
To complete the e-KYC for your ration card, you can visit your nearest food supply centre with your Aadhaar card. Alternatively, you can also complete the e-KYC process online.
