PM Modi to inaugurate Samruddhi Mahamarg

The Prime Minister will inaugurate Phase-I of the Samruddhi Mahamarg, a 520-kilometer road connecting Nagpur and Shirdi.

Samruddhi Mahamarg, or the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway project, is a significant step toward the realisation of the Prime Minister’s vision of improved connectivity and infrastructure throughout the nation. The 701 km expressway, which is being constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 55,000 crore, is one of India’s longest expressways, passing through the 10 districts of Maharashtra and the major urban areas of Amravati, Aurangabad, and Nashik. The expressway will also improve the connectivity of 14 neighbouring districts, thereby contributing to the development of approximately 24 districts in the state, including Vidarbha, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra.

Samruddhi Mahamarg will connect to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, and tourist destinations such as Ajanta-Ellora Caves, Shirdi, Verul, Lonar, etc., in keeping with the Prime Minister’s vision of integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects under PM Gati Shakti. The Samruddhi Mahamarg will be a game-changer for Maharashtra’s economic growth, giving it a big boost.

PM Modi to dedicate Nagpur Metro

In an additional move that will revolutionise urban mobility, PM Narendra Modi will dedicate “Nagpur Metro Phase I.” At Khapri Metro Station, he will launch two metro trains, from Khapri to Automotive Square (Orange Line) and one from Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar (Aqua Line). The cost of developing Phase I of the Nagpur Metro exceeds Rs 8,650 crore. In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Nagpur Metro Phase-II, which will be constructed at a cost of over Rs 6700 crore.

PM Modi to dedicate AIIMS Nagpur

Through the dedication of AIIMS Nagpur to the nation, the Prime Minister’s pledge to improve the nation’s health infrastructure will be strengthened. The hospital was built through the central-sector project Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. The Prime Minister also helped lay the foundation stone for the hospital in July 2017.

AIIMS Nagpur is a hospital with state-of-the-art facilities, including OPD, IPD, diagnostic services, operation theatres, and 38 departments covering all major specialties and superspecialties in medical science. The hospital is a boon to the surrounding tribal areas of Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Melghat because it offers modern health care facilities to the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

PM Modi to inaugurate Vande Bharat Express at Nagpur railway station

The Vande Bharat Express between Nagpur and Bilaspur will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister at the Nagpur Railway Station.

At the public event in Nagpur, PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Nagpur Railway Station and Ajni Railway Station, which will cost approximately Rs 590 crore and Rs 360 crore to redevelop, respectively. The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni (Nagpur), and Kohli-Narkher Sections of the Nagpur-Itarsi Third Line. These projects were developed at a cost of approximately Rs 110 billion and Rs 450 billion, respectively.

Laying of foundation stone for National Institute of One Health

The Prime Minister’s laying of the foundation stone for the National Institute of One Health (NIO), Nagpur, is a step toward developing the country’s infrastructure and capacity in accordance with the “One Health” philosophy.

The “One Health” approach acknowledges that human health is interconnected with animal and environmental health. This approach recognises that the majority of infectious diseases affecting humans are zoonotic (animal-to-human). The institute, which will be established at a cost of more than Rs 110 crore, will collaborate and coordinate with all stakeholders and act as a catalyst to improve research and capacity building in the country’s “One Health” approach.

Other initiatives

In Nagpur, PM Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for a project to reduce pollution in the river Nag. The project, which is part of the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), will be implemented at a cost of over Rs 1,925 crore.

The prevalence of sickle cell disease is relatively high in the Vidarbha region, particularly among the tribal population. The disease, along with other hemoglobinopathies such as thalassemia and HbE, contributes significantly to the country’s disease burden. In February 2019, the Prime Minister laid the cornerstone for the Center for Research, Management, and Control of Haemoglobinopathies in Chandrapur. The Prime Minister will now dedicate the centre to the nation, which is envisioned to become a centre of excellence for innovative research, technology development, and human resource development in the field of hemoglobinopathies.

The Prime Minister will present the nation with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Chandrapur. The institute seeks to cultivate skilled labour to meet the needs of the polymer and related industries.

PM Modi to inaugurate Mopa International Airport in Goa

The Prime Minister has made it a priority to provide infrastructure and transportation facilities of world-class quality throughout the country. As a further step in this direction, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Mopa International Airport in Goa. The Prime Minister laid the first stone of the airport’s foundation in November 2016.

The airport has a solar power plant, green buildings, LED lights on the runway, rainwater harvesting, a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant with recycling facilities, and other such features. It cost approximately Rs 2,870 billion to construct. It has adopted advanced technologies such as 3-D monolithic precast buildings, StabilRoad, robotic hollow precast walls, and 5G-compatible IT infrastructure. The airport features a runway capable of accommodating the world’s largest aircrafts, 14 parking bays with aircraft night parking, self-baggage drop facilities, and a cutting-edge and independent air navigation infrastructure.

Initially, phase I of the airport will accommodate approximately 4.4 million passengers per year (MPPA), which can be expanded to 33 MPPA. The airport will contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the state and meet the requirements of the tourism industry. It has the potential to serve as a major logistics hub, connecting numerous domestic and international locations. The airport is also expected to have multimodal connectivity.

In addition to being a world-class airport, the airport will give visitors a taste and feel of Goa. Goa-native Azulejos tiles have been utilised extensively at the airport. Additionally, the food court recreates the allure of a typical Goan café. Additionally, there will be a designated area for a curated flea market where local artisans and craftsmen will be encouraged to display and sell their wares.

9th World Ayurveda Congress and National Ayush Institutes

In addition, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate three National Ayush Institutes and speak at the closing ceremony of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress. The three institutes, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Ghaziabad, and the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Delhi, will strengthen research and international collaborations and make Ayush services more accessible to the public.

Developed at a total cost of approximately Rs 970 crores, they will increase student enrollment by approximately 400 and add approximately 500 hospital beds.

The 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) & Arogya Expo is attracting active participation from over 400 international delegates representing over 50 countries, international students, and various other Ayurveda stakeholders. “Ayurveda for One Health” is the theme of the ninth World Ayurveda Congress.
