Last Year Changes Were Made In LPG Price
Last Year in October, the central government raised the subsidy on domestic LPG cylinders from Rs 200 to Rs 300. This increase in subsidy was implemented for the ongoing fiscal year, scheduled to end on March 31. Just before the reduction of Rs 100, the government had also prolonged the subsidy scheme for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for another year.
Today, on Women’s Day, our Government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100. This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti.

What Is The Total Expenditure Of The Initiative?
Beneficiaries have been receiving LPG subsidies for 12 cylinders annually, a provision that will persist into the upcoming year. The total expenditure for this initiative is estimated to be approximately Rs 12,000 crore. The subsidy amount is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. It’s worth noting that the interim budget for the next fiscal year has allocated Rs 11,925 crore for LPG subsidy.
