Prime minister at G7 Summit:

G7 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hiroshima on Friday at the invitation of Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida to participate in the G7 Summit. On Saturday, PM Modi unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi there.

He offered flowers to Gandhi. After this talking to reporters PM Modi said that it is a great moment for me that the Bodhi tree which I gifted to the Japanese PM has been planted here in Hiroshima so that people can understand the importance of peace when they come here .

PM Modi said that even today the world trembles on hearing the name of Hiroshima. In this visit to the G7 Summit, I have had the privilege of first unveiling the statue of respected Mahatma Gandhi. Today the world is grappling with the battle of climate change and terrorism. The ideal of Bapu is the best way to win the fight against climate change. His lifestyle has been a perfect example of respect, coordination and dedication towards nature.

Lord Budhha and Mahatma Gandhi

PM Modi said that the Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi gave the message of peace to the world. Japan is nurtured and influenced from the thoughts of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. The statue of Bapu will be a great inspiration in carrying forward thoughts of non-violence and compassion.

G7 Summit: Countries

Japan is presiding over the G-7 countries in 2023 this year. The G7 group includes Japan, Italy, Canada, France, the US, the UK and Germany. Japan has invited the leaders of Australia, Brazil, Comoros, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam under its G7 Presidency.
