New Delhi: The IPTO complex, where the G20 meeting will be hosted in September, is likely to get inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26. The place is also known as Pragati Maidan Complex, which has a campus area of 123 acres and is India’s largest Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.
The redeveloped and modern IECC complex ranks among the top 10 exhibition and convention complexes globally in terms of covered space available for events. It competes with renowned venues such as the Hannover Exhibition Centre in Germany and the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai.

The impressive magnitude of the IECC’s infrastructure reflects India’s capacity to host world-class events on a grand scale. Notably, Level-3 of the Convention Centre boasts a seating capacity of 7,000 people, surpassing the iconic Sydney Opera House in Australia, which can accommodate around 5,500 individuals. This distinguishing feature positions the IECC as a suitable venue for hosting mega conferences, international summits, and cultural extravaganzas worldwide.
Officials highlighted that the IECC offers seven innovative exhibition halls, providing an ideal platform for showcasing products, innovations, and ideas. These state-of-the-art spaces facilitate engagement between exhibitors, companies, and their target audience, fostering business growth and networking opportunities.
