New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday distributed more than 70,000 appointment letters while virtually attending Rashtriya Rozgar Mela.
Addressing the event, the PM said, “On this auspicious day of Baisakhi, more than 70,000 youth got government jobs in various departments of the central government. As per a report, startups have generated 40 lakh direct and indirect jobs.”

PM Modi asserted that the process of giving government jobs in NDA and BJP-ruled states is going on at a fast pace. He cited the example of Madhya Pradesh where over 22,000 appointment letters were handed over to teachers yesterday itself.
He hailed the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” while saying that the campign “is generating jobs in the urban and rural areas of the country. The toy industry has been enhanced leading to the generation of new job opportunities.”

During his address at Rashtriya Rozgar Mela, the Prime Minister emphasised on the trend of drone manufacturing and its pilots. He said, “New India’s youth are engaging in new-age technologies and are increasingly involved in drone manufacturing and becoming drone pilots. The capital investment in infrastructure projects propels employment generation and creates diverse opportunities for Yuva Shakti.”
The Prime Minister added that health, port and agriculture sectors are also fostering job generation due to their continuous development.
“The ports sector is developing. The health sector is also becoming the best example of employment generation. Every infrastructure project is generating employment opportunities. Farm mechanisation has increased in the Agriculture sector which has increased job opportunities in the rural area,” said PM Modi.

“Till 2014 there were 74 airports in India, now there are 148 airports. Due to the increase in airports, new employment opportunities have also opened up.
