NTA Reports 750 Out of 1,563 NEET-UG Students Skip Re-test

Approximately half, or 750 candidates, did not attend the NEET-UG retest on Sunday. The retest was organized following the NTA's decision to retract additional marks given to students compensated for time lost due to delayed exam starts at six centers.

NEET Controversy: Students Achieve High Ranks On 2nd Try

On Sunday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administered a retest of the NEET-UG examination for 1,563 candidates across six centers in four states and one Union Territory. According to the testing panel, 813 out of the total appeared for the retest, while 750 candidates did not participate.

The exam took place following the NTA’s decision to revoke additional marks granted to students who experienced delays in starting their exams at six centers in Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh.

In Chhattisgarh, the exam was planned for two centers, where 602 candidates were eligible for the retest. Today, 291 aspirants attended the exam.

In Haryana, preparations were made at two examination centers for 494 candidates, out of which 287 students attended the exam. Meanwhile, in Meghalaya, 234 out of 464 eligible candidates participated in the test today.

In Gujarat, the retest was conducted for a single candidate.

The retest for the medical entrance exam was held following the National Testing Agency’s decision to revoke extra marks given to students who were compensated for the delayed start of the examination at six centers.

Six students achieved a perfect score of 720 marks, along with 61 others, which sparked accusations of grade inflation.
