NEET-PG Postponed Amid Controversy Over Exam Irregularities, Originally Scheduled For Sunday

The ministry stated it will conduct a thorough assessment of the examination processes to ensure their robustness and fairness

The NEET-PG Entrance Examination, originally set for June 23, 2024, has been postponed. This action follows recent accusations regarding the integrity of several competitive exams in the nation. The National Board of Examination, which administers the exam for medical students, oversees the test. On Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced that the postponement was a precautionary step to ensure the integrity of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination.

The ministry stated it will conduct a thorough assessment of the examination processes to ensure their robustness and fairness. The new date for the examination will be announced as soon as possible.

“The Ministry of Health sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to the students. This decision has been made in the best interests of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process,” read a statement from the ministry.

This postponement follows the cancellation of the UGC-NET due to the exam paper being leaked on the darknet. Additionally, there are ongoing concerns about alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate).

A day prior, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the postponement of the CSIR-UGC-NET exam, originally scheduled for June 25, citing “unavoidable circumstances.”
