Noida: The people of the smart city – Noida are experiencing several difficulties in conducting their day-to-day activities due to the long power cut which are happening on the regular basis in the city.
However, the weather is supporting helping the people as it is raining for the past two days.
Chandan, a resident of the Noida sector 27, said, “Since two days, there are several cuts in the area. It has made it difficult for us to conduct the regular activities such as taking bath, ironing clothes, etc. I am the sole earner of the family and I am facing hardship in getting ready for the office. I have a 5-year-old daughter and she is not able to sleep at night due to the power cuts. I hope that the condition improves soon in the state.”

Another resident of Amrapali Princely Estate, on the condition of anonymity, said that the power cuts have become very regular and when we try to contact the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) to know the reason behind it, the call always disconnects. We are not able to reach the officials of the UPPCL.”
“However, due this issue we have to shell out more money as the power backup – Diesel Generator (DG) cost is much higher. It is being difficult for us to even sustain the high rise due to this issue. The concerned authorities should immediately resolve this issue,” he said.
Rashi, an employee working in Noida sector 16A, said that the for the past two days they are experiencing major power cuts in the office following which their computers shut down unexpectedly compelling them to rework on their assigned assignments.
“The office’s power backup system is a savior, ensuring our comfort by running the air conditioners during scorching temperatures. While it’s a welcome relief, our work often faces abrupt interruptions due to unexpected power cuts. Despite the cooling respite, these interruptions remain a challenge,” she said.

Meanwhile, a senior UPPCL official have denied the allegations stating that the power has been cut for only 15 minutes as a precautionary measure due to the high wings and rainfall in the area. Despite this, they have no knowledge of power cut.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure the electricity in the region to avoid any inconvenience to the public,” he added.
