Big News! Noida Authority Slaps Rs 1 Cr Penalty On 35 Eateries

As per a senior Noida Authority official, privy to the development, the administration office is getting recurring complaints of blockage of drains and sewer lines in the city, following which a team was constituted to conduct the inspection to find out the reason behind it.

In a stern action, Noida authority has imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore on nearly 35 restaurants and hotels in the city for dumping untreated water directly into the drains, resulting in blockage in the sewer line and drainage system, according to a senior official.

As per a senior Noida Authority official, privy to the development, the administration office is getting recurring complaints of blockage of drains and sewer lines in the city, following which a team was constituted to conduct the inspection to find out the reason behind this problem.

“The inspection team observed that the problem of the continuous blockage is arising as the several restaurant and hotels in the city are directing dumping their kitchen waste water into the drains with treating it which was resulting in the clogged sewer lines and drains causing inconvenience to the people residing in Noida,” he said.

Giving the details about the action taken by the Noida Authority, he said the administration office issued notice to all the restaurants and hotels to rectify the situation within 15 days.

However, after 15 days when the team again visited the eateries to check the that they are obeying the order issued by the Noida authority, it was found that out of 40 restaurants, only 5 have rectified their mistake. Following this, the administration office has imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore to 35 eateries for not complying with the directions given by them.

Informing about the restaurants and hotels which are not following the directions of Noida Authority, he said that the fine is imposed on 35 eateries including The Courtyard Diner, Kolahala Restaurant, At Live Restaurant, The Yellow Chilli, Pizza Baristo, La Pino’s Pizza, Bob’s Restaurant, Aahar Restaurant, The Giant Panda Restaurant, Sweet-Eye Restaurant, Chhavi Hotel, Awadhi Food Tarkari, Al-Nawab Restaurant, Fila Restaurant, Gabbar Dhaba, Singh Foods, etc.
