The upcoming general elections are slated to take place into seven phases from April 19.
Former MP Nirupam has been criticizing the Uddhav Thackeray-led party ever since it announced its candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
The source of his dissatisfaction lies in the Mumbai North-West seat, which Nirupam desires to contest. However, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party has nominated Amol Kirtikar as its candidate for this seat.
Currently held by Shiv Sena’s Gajanan Kirtikar, who defeated Nirupam in the 2019 election, the seat has become a point of contention. Gajanan Kirtikar has aligned with Eknath Shinde after the Shiv Sena split, and in a strategic move, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party has nominated his son Amol for the seat.
