Kamra Takes A Jab At Mainstream Media
A complaint was initially filed against Kamra by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel. He was already summoned by the Khar Police Station previously but requested a week’s extension. The popular comedian, on March 27, took to his X handle to take a jab at the mainstream media, saying, “To all those hounding for a quote – “The mainstream media at this point is nothing but a miscommunication arm of the ruling party. They are vultures who report on issues that don’t matter to the people of this country. If they all shut shop from tomorrow till eternity, they will be doing a favour to the country, its people & their own children.”
About The Controversy
All this comes in the wake of his performance in the city. The Shiv Sena workers vandalised the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar last Sunday following controversial remarks made by stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra during his show at the ‘The Unicontinental Mumbai’. Tensions escalated over Kamra’s alleged mockery statements targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
His statements drew massive outrage from the Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. During his performance at the hotel, Kamra used offensive words like ‘Gaddar, Dalbadlu’, etc in an indirect reference to DCM Shinde. He also sang a modified version of Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ referring to the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis.
