Kolkata: A total number of 2 passenger ferries carrying 500 to 600 pilgrims from Gangasagar were stranded in ocean due to fog and low tide since Sunday evening.
As per the information, state administration has sent relief items for the those stuck in the ferries. Meanwhile, two Hovercrafts of the Indian Coast Guard are conducting the rescue operation.

As per the Telgraph online, there was a poor visibility in the area due to which, the ferries were delayed. It delayed the arrival of the pilgrims at on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
