Manoj Pandey

Manoj Pandey, the SP MLA representing the Unchahar Assembly seat, holds significant sway in the district, having consistently won elections here since its inception. Despite facing challenges, Pandey has consistently proven his strong ties with the people there. In the 2012 elections, he led a group of five successful SP candidates into the assembly, while in 2017, he stood as the sole SP victor in the district. Pandey’s influence extends beyond Unchahar to Rae Bareli and neighboring districts, but his unbreakable bond with Unchahar remains unparalleled.

Manoj Pandey defeated BJP

In the 2022 elections, the BJP campaigned vigorously under the banner of “now or never,” fielding their state general secretary, Amar Pal Maurya, in an attempt to unseat Pandey. Despite the BJP’s concerted efforts to sway voters, Pandey once again emerged triumphant in the Unchahar constituency when the election results were announced on March 10.

Rakesh Pratap Singh

Rakesh Pratap Singh, born on June 30, 1976, to Tej Pratap Singh in Mau, Amethi district of Kor state, currently serves as the SP MLA representing the Gauriganj constituency. He entered the political arena by contesting and winning the Gauriganj seat for the first time in 2012.

After securing re-election in 2017, Singh resigned from the UP Assembly on October 31, 2021, citing the BJP’s failure to fulfill its promises to the public. Despite facing the Yogi wave in the 2022 Legislative SP elections, Singh managed to defeat BJP candidate Chandra Prakash Matiyari by a margin of 6,963 votes.

Singh completed his high school education from SPIC Raniganj Kaithaula Pratapgarh in 1991. He tied the knot with Sheelam Singh on June 1, 1996, and is a proud parent to a son and a daughter. Singh’s primary occupations include agriculture and trading.
