Keshab Mahindra, former Chairman Emeritus of Mahindra & Mahindra, passes away at age of 99
Mumbai: Keshab Mahindra, former Chairman Emeritus of Mahindra & Mahindra, passed away at age of 99 on Wednesday. He was the oldest billionaire alive, recently, Keshab was featured in the Forbes annual list of World Billionaires 2023.
Mahindra joined his father's company in 1947, which initially engaged in manufacturing and selling utility vehicles. He had a productive tenure from 1963 to 2012.

After his retirement, Keshab appointed his nephew Anand Mahindra as his successor. As an alumnus of Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Mahindra played a key role in transforming Mahindra & Mahindra from a mere assembler of Willys Jeeps in India to a diversified conglomerate.
Under his leadership, the Mahindra Group, with a valuation of $19 billion, expanded its portfolio beyond tractors and sports utility vehicles, into software services, hospitality and real estate sectors. Today, the Mahindra Group is recognized for its diverse business pursuits, encompassing a variety of industries and sectors beyond its core automotive history.
