Aasif Suhaf, Srinagar: A fierce gunfight is underway between LeT terrorists and security forces in the Waterhail area of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.

“3 terrorists of The Ressistance Front (TRF) terrorist outfit including terrorist Lateef Rather are trapped in ongoing encounter,” officials told News24.

The TRF is a branch of Pakistan-backed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

Officails said that Lateef was involved in several civilian killings including that of Kashmiri Hindus Rahul Bhat and Amreen Bhat, who were killed in Budgam some months ago.

Earlier, a joint team of security forces had cordoned off the whole waterhial area following specific inputs about presence of terrorists. As the security forces approached the suspected spot the hiding terrorist fired upon the forces triggering a gunfight.

The Security forces have evacuated the civilians living around the gunfight area and operation against terrorists are going on.
