Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway To Be UP’s First Bike-Free Route, Built With AI-Guided Construction

The implementing agency of NHAI has explained the rationale behind the ban on bikes, autos, and loaders. It stated that vehicles on the expressway will travel at speeds of up to 120 km per hour, and these smaller vehicles are not suitable for such high speeds. Therefore, they have been entirely prohibited.

The Lucknow-Kanpur expressway is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2,800 crores. This will be the first expressway in the country to use Automated Intelligence Machine-Guided Construction technology. This will be the first expressway in Uttar Pradesh to ban two-wheelers. Apart from this, small passenger vehicles like auto, loader, etc.. will not be allowed to move on this route.

Udit Jain, PNC’s administrative officer, verified the claim. It was announced that vehicles such as bikes and cars will not be permitted on the under-construction Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway. People should be banned from using these vehicles on the expressway after construction is complete. To tackle this, special monitoring will be implemented at the toll booths located along the road. Expressway authorities were rumored to be using modern technology and cameras in faraway areas to send visual data to the toll management, as reported by Jagran.

It was told that under no circumstances bike riders and other prohibited vehicles will be able to speed on the expressway. Recently, the speed limit of vehicles has been fixed on the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.

The NHAI has decided that the maximum speed for cars on this expressway should be 120 km per hour. The maximum speed for light vehicles has remained at the same rate. On the other hand, heavy vehicles will be allowed to go 80 kmph. The rules in the plan do not mention the speed of bicycles. Since toll plazas are placed after ramps on the highway, those vehicles that are climbing in the middle or at the start will be closely watched.

Toll booths are always found where there are ramps. Officials from NHAI noted that as soon as you enter the expressway (Kanpur Lucknow Expressway) from Lucknow, you will see the first toll plaza around Miranpur Pinwat. A second toll will be set up at Khandedev. A third toll will go up near Bani, another one near Amarsas village and the fifth along Azad Nagar.
