She also rejected the allegation as ‘completely baseless rumors’ targeted at her. Taking to X, the actor-turned-politician stated that she doesn’t consume beef or any other type of red meat, expressing her disappointment at the circulation of such unfounded rumors about her.

She added that she has been advocating and promoting a yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle for decades, emphasizing that such tactics won’t tarnish her image. Ranaut asserted that her supporters know her well and understand her pride in being a Hindu. She concluded with a declaration of “Jai Shri Ram”.

Kangana Ranaut’s response was prompted by Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, who serves as the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly. He alleged that the BJP Lok Sabha candidate had previously tweeted about liking and consuming beef, suggesting that it was contradictory for the BJP to nominate her as a candidate for the upcoming elections.

During a rally in Maharashtra on April 5, Wadettiwar also claimed that the BJP was “welcoming” all corrupt leaders. In response to the allegations, several BJP leaders came out in support of Ranaut. BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye criticized Wadettiwar’s remark, stating that it reflects the Congress’ “dirty culture”.
