The Enforcement Directorate has called upon Kailash Gehlot, Delhi minister and AAP leader, to appear for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in a money laundering case associated with the Delhi liquor policy. Currently, Mr. Gehlot holds the positions of home, transport, and law minister in the Delhi government.

Kailash Gehlot Detained By ED
Just days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the case, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Kailash Gahlot for questioning.ED sources state that they have directed Gahlot to appear for questioning and record his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The case involves accusing Gahlot of corruption and money laundering during the creation and execution of the Delhi government’s excise policy for the fiscal year 2021-22, which was later annulled.
According to the ED, the policy allegedly offered an excessively high-profit margin of nearly 185% for retailers and 12% for wholesalers. The agency asserts that out of the latter, six percent, totaling over ₹600 crore, was obtained as bribes, purportedly utilized to finance the election campaigns in Goa and Punjab. In connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, three prominent Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have been arrested. The other two individuals are AAP MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Additionally, K Kavitha, the leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, is also currently incarcerated.
