New Delhi: A 23-year-old working as a domestic help was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing Jammu and Kashmir Director General (Prisons) Hemant K Lohia, news agency PTI reported citing police.
Police, in a statement, said that Yasir Lohar was arrested following a major all-night manhunt and that his interrogation is going on.
Lohar, who is a resident of Halla-Dhandrath village in Ramban district, was arrested from a field in the Kanhachak area.
The DG Jail of Jammu & Kashmir Hemant Kumar Lohia was found dead on Monday morning. There were burn injuries and his throat was slit, officials said.
