Jammu & Kashmir: In a significant move to enhance security and disrupt potential terrorist networks, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a comprehensive search operation at Central Jail Srinagar on Tuesday morning. This operation is part of an ongoing investigation into suspected connections between inmates, terrorist groups, and anti-national elements operating within the region.
The extensive raid aimed to uncover critical evidence and curb illicit activities that threaten the safety and security of the area. Authorities are particularly focused on preventing the misuse of communication devices, including mobile phones, which have been linked to unauthorized communications between inmates and outside operatives.

Their efforts proved fruitful as they recovered several mobile phones that were being used for illicit communications. The discovery of these devices underscores the ongoing challenges faced by prison authorities in maintaining security and order within the facility.
Jail authorities are working in close collaboration with the CIK to ensure a thorough investigation and to implement measures that will prevent such occurrences in the future. The operation reflects a proactive approach by law enforcement agencies to address the complexities of managing security within correctional facilities in a region grappling with insurgency-related issues.
