Devendra Fadnavis has been unanimously elected as the leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, paving the way for his return as Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan and is expected to be a grand event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, around 2,000 VVIPs, and approximately 40,000 supporters. Special arrangements have been made to accommodate both supporters and dignitaries, with the event being broadcast live across the state.

Meanwhile, Celebrations erupted outside the residence of BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur following his unanimous election as the Leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party.

The allocation of cabinet positions among the coalition partners is currently under discussion. The BJP is likely to retain key portfolios such as Home and Revenue, while Shiv Sena is expected to secure around 12 ministries including Urban Development. The NCP is anticipated to receive 9-10 ministries, potentially including Finance and Deputy Speaker roles.
Fadnavis’s election as the leader of the BJP’s legislative party was confirmed during a meeting held earlier today. His return marks his third term as Chief Minister, reflecting his significant influence within the party and the state.
As preparations for the ceremony continue, it is clear that this new government aims to establish a stable administration following recent political turbulence in Maharashtra.
