The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed on Thursday that there was a plot against Arvind Kejriwal while he is in Tihar jail. AAP minister Atishi alleged that there was an attempt to “harm Arvind Kejriwal” during his detention.

AAP reported fluctuations in Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels and accused Tihar Jail officials of not providing him with insulin despite his requests.

She noted Kejriwal’s need for 54 units of insulin daily due to his diabetes, a condition he’s had for 30 years.

The court had allowed Kejriwal homemade food for his specific dietary needs. “The BJP and its affiliate organization, ED, are trying to worsen his health,” Atishi said.

The Enforcement Directorate accused Kejriwal of consuming high-sugar foods daily to manipulate his blood sugar levels for medical bail.

In response, Atishi called ED’s claims “lies” and clarified that Kejriwal is consuming tea and sweets as prescribed by his doctor.

Atishi explained that diabetic patients need emergency items like bananas and chocolates for sudden drops in sugar levels, which can be life-threatening.

Despite Kejriwal’s requests, Atishi said he wasn’t receiving insulin or medication.

Atishi accused the ED and BJP of spreading misinformation to stop Kejriwal’s access to homemade food, raising concerns about his treatment in jail.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
