New Delhi: The Income Tax Department is conducting raids at many places in the country on Wednesday morning. These raids are being conducted against unrecognized political parties.
These raids of the IT department are going on in many states of the country including Delhi, Rajasthan. There is a case of tax evasion against these unrecognized political parties. Due to this the team of Income Tax Department is conducting raids.
Sources said that the search operation is also being conducted in some other states of the country including Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana.

News agency PTI quoted sources as saying that a coordinated action has been initiated by the Income Tax Department against unrecognized political parties and their affiliated entities, operators and others.
It is believed that this action has been taken by the Income Tax Department on the recommendation of the Election Commission (EC), news agency PTI reported. During the recent verification by the Election Commission (EC), 87 entities belonging to several political parties were removed from the list of RUPP.

The Election Commission (EC) had announced that it was taking action against over 2,100 registered unrecognized political parties. who are violating the rules and electoral laws. These political parties and entities were charged with relating to filing monetary contributions and failing to update their addresses and names of office bearers. The Election Commission (EC) had also said that some of these parties were involved in serious financial irregularities.
