Income Tax Department Raids Bengaluru Eateries Owned By Meghana Foods

Meghana Foods, a Bengaluru-based restaurant group, faced IT raids citing tax discrepancies. Known for Andhra-style cuisine, it expanded to five branches in Bengaluru, with ownership by Padma Atluri and Rambabu Mandava.

Meghana Foods Group, a prominent Bengaluru-based hotel and restaurant company, found itself under the scrutiny of Income Tax (IT) officials from Karnataka and Goa divisions in a series of coordinated raids. These raids targeted various locations, including the company’s offices in Koramangala, Indiranagar, Jayanagar, and other establishments linked with Meghana Foods.

Starting at the early hour of five o’clock in the morning, the raids sent shockwaves throughout the city. Income Tax officials pointed to discrepancies in income tax payments as the main driving force behind this comprehensive operation. Reports suggest that the IT team targeted over ten locations linked to Meghana Foods, conducting thorough investigations without overlooking any detail. The raids were marked by careful planning and precise execution, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Established in 2006 in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area, the restaurant quickly gained fame for its delectable Biryani, specializing in Andhra-style cuisine. Over the years, it has expanded its presence and now boasts five branches across the tech hub, catering to its growing base of patrons.

It is headquartered in Hyderabad, has extended its operations to Bengaluru. The ownership of Meghana Foods is attributed to Padma Atluri and Rambabu Mandava.
