New Delhi: The area from India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan on either side of the duty path (earlier Rajpath) has been named as Central Vista. Know the difference between ‘then’ and ‘now’ on duty path in pictures.
The central government is building the Central Vista anew. In this, a new Parliament House, residences of the Prime Minister and Vice President and government offices are to be built at a cost of Rs 13,450 crore.

Improvements have been made in the area around Duttipath and Central Vista Avenue to deal with the traffic problem. Along with this, facilities like public toilets, drinking water, street furniture and ample parking space have also been developed.
This avenue is a 1.8 km long stretch of duty path and also has lawns along its side between India Gate and Vijay Chowk.

The project includes four pedestrian underpasses, eight amenity blocks, relaying of Rajpath, construction of paths in lawns, improvement of canals and 16 permanent bridges over it.
