IMD Weather Update: It’s the middle of March, and there have been drastic changes in weather conditions across the country. While there has been a slight rise in maximum temperatures over some parts of the country, others have been lashed by rain and snowfall. Southern states are hit by heatwave, and the days have started turning warmer over the plains. Moreover, a cyclonic circulation over central parts of Rajasthan, and a trough from northern Punjab to central Rajasthan, is expected to bring rainfall to the northern states.
Rainfall Expected Across 10+ States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall/snowfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning likely over Western Himalayan region on 15th and 16th March.
Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind has been predicted over Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan on 15th March.
Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will also witness rainfall/ snowfall on 15th March.
Rain is likely to lash Uttarakhand on 16th March.

The IMD further stated that another Cyclonic Circulation lies over east Assam and neighbourhood. Under its influence, several north eastern states are expected to receive rainfall.
During 15-17th March: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning.

Heat wave, Hot & Humid Weather Warning
Heat wave to severe heatwave conditions have been forecasted over Kutch on 15th and Odisha during 15th to 17th March.
Heat wave condition is expected over Chhattisgarh on 15th; Jharkhand during 15th-17th and Gangetic West Bengal on 15th -17th March.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will experience heat wave conditions on 15th March.
Hot and humid conditions is very likely to prevail over Coastal Karnataka during 16th to 18th, over Tamil Nadu during 15th to 17th, over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 15th March.
IMD Weather Update: Delhi Weather Forecast
According to the IMD forecast, the sky will remain generally cloudy today. Very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds will prevail in Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain 24 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively. No other specific warning regarding Delhi’s weather conditions have been issued by the IMD.
