IMD Weather Update: As we gear up to enter the month of April, many places are witnessing the wrath of severe heat. However, the weather has not yet turned extreme in some regions due to Western disturbances. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall over Kashmir today. The other affected places likely to receive rain on 27th March 2025 include Himachal
Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab. These states will also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds traveling at 30 to 50 kmph speed.
Heavy Rain Alert For Arunachal Pradesh
The Met Body has predicted incessant heavy rains at different places in Arunachal Pradesh on the 28th and 29th of March. In the meantime, Punjab will record strong surface winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 35 kmph on the 27th and 28th, while Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi will witness the same from 27th to 29th March. A warning has been issued against dust-raising winds (20-30 kmph), which are likely to occur at isolated places over West Rajasthan on 27th March.

Today, there is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-50 kmph) over Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe. The other affected areas include Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, likely to undergo changes in weather pattern.
Heat Wave Warning
According to IMD, heat wave conditions are very likely to persist in isolated pockets of interior Odisha on the 29th and 30th of March.
Hot & Humid Weather Warning
Hot day conditions have been predicted for West Uttar Pradesh on the 27th and Gangetic West Bengal on 28th March. Gujarat will continue to witness hot and dry weather conditions on the 29th and 30th. Meanwhile, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will experience the same during 28th to 30th March.
