IMD Weather Update: Scorching Heat Wave Warning For Gujarat, Rising Temperatures In Many Regions

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave warning for Gujarat, predicting maximum temperatures to reach between 40°C and 43°C in many regions over the next few days.

The weather in India is anticipated to become hot in the upcoming days. There is a possibility of an increase in maximum temperatures of 3-5°C in Northwest India, during the next 04 days. The temperatures will also rise in 2-4°C in Central India and in Interior Maharashtra during next 04 to 05 days. There may be an increase in temperature by 2-3°C in Gujarat in the upcoming days, but after that, slight decrease is also possible.

There is a heat wave alert for the coastal areas in Gujarat, where there will a humid and hot weather conditions from March 23 to 25. In Delhi NCR, a decrease in temperatures has been observed in the past 24 hours. The maximum temperatures have been observed in the range of 31°C and 33°C, while the minimum temperatures have remained in the range of 14°C and 17°C. The sky conditions are mostly clear from yesterday and the winds are mild with northwest direction.

1. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-5°C likely over many places over Northwest India during next 4 days and no significant change thereafter.

2. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C likely over Central India and Interior Maharashtra during next 4-5 days.

3. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over Gujarat during next 3 days and then fall by about 2-3°C thereafter.

    Hot and humid weather conditions very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over coastal areas of Gujarat State during 23rd-25th March.

    Past Weather In Delhi NCR

    There has been a fall in minimum and maximum temperatures upto 01°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 31 to 33°C and 14 to 17°C respectively. The minimum temperature was below normal up to 03°C and maximum temperature near normal at most places.

    Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the northwest direction with wind speeds less than 18 to 20 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions with wind speed less than 08 kmph from the southwest direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
