IMD Weather Update: Residents must brace themselves as the weather is set to undergo a significant transition across many states in the country. Amid the scorching heat, a fresh spell of rain is expected to bring respite over the next few days. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in various areas. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an alert for heavy rain over Arunachal Pradesh on 13th and 14th April. At the same time, Assam and Meghalaya will experience intense showers during 13th-14th, while Odisha on the 14th and 15th of April.
Light Rain To Lash Northeast And East India
Due to a Western Disturbance and two upper cyclonic circulations, weather trends will change over the coming days. Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning & gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph)
are likely over Northeast and adjoining East India during the next 7 days. Central India and Maharashtra, on the other hand, will witness isolated to scattered rainfall on 13th and 14th April.

Hailstorm And Thunder Sqalls Warning
IMD has issued a warning for isolated Hailstorms over Jharkhand on the 15th of April. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel if possible. On the other hand, thunder squalls blowing at a wind speed up to 50-60 km/h are also very likely at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh in the coming few days.
Light Showers Across Southern States
According to IMD, light showers, thunderstorms, lightning & gusty winds are likely over Kerala & Mahe during the next 5 days. Similar weather conditions are also expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Telangana, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next 3 days.
