Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Surendra Yadav Thursday kicked up a new controversy with his controversial remarks over Agniveers. The Bihar minister stated that India’s name will be counted among “Hijdon ki Fauj” due to the Agnipath Scheme.
“Exactly 8.5 yrs from now, country’s name will be included among ‘Hijdon ki fauj.’ After 8.5 years, current Army men will retire and training of these Agniveers will not be completed,” said the minister.

While adding to that, the minister said whoever gave the idea of the Army recruitment scheme should be hanged.
The Centre rolled out the new Army Recuritment Policy called Agnipath on June 14 last year where youth of 17.5 to 21 years can apply. The scheme has been designed to enable a youthful profile of the Armed Forces, said the Centre. It is envisaged that average age profile of Indian Armed forces would come down by about 4-5 years by implementation of this scheme.
