Hemant Soren is set to take oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on November 28. The ceremony will take place at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground on Thursday at 4pm. The JMM-led alliance won the majority in the state Assembly elections. This marks the first time in Jharkhand that an incumbent government has returned to power after completing a full five-year term. The JMM won 34 seats, while its allies secured 22 seats. Among the allies, the Congress won 16 seats, the RJD won four, and the CPI-ML won two seats. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar will administer oath to Hemant Soren.

Earlier, Hemant Soren had tendered his resignation as the Jharkhand Chief Minister to Governor Santosh Gangwar and staked a claim to form the new Government, at the Raj Bhawan. Jharkhand Chief Minister-designate Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday.

Who All Will Be In The Cabinet?
Congress general secretary and Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said that Hemant Soren would take the oath alone as the CM and would expand his cabinet after a vote of confidence in the assembly.
According to sources, cabinet will be expanded next week, after the new government takes the vote of confidence. The JMM is likely to keep six ministerial berths along with the CM post. The Congress is expected to get four berths and RJD will get one. The CPI-ML with its two MLAs, will support the government from outside.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed his happiness over Hemant Soren’s upcoming swearing-in ceremony as Jharkhand CM and stated that the INDIA bloc is very happy with the results of the recent Assembly elections.
JMM leader Mahua Maji described the swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren as a “historic day” for Jharkhand.
