New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi Tuesday acquitted former Haryana Minister Gopal Goyal Kanda in a case related to air hostess Geetika Sharma suicide case.
The case pertains to an alleged sucide of a former air hostess Geetika who was earlier employed with Kanda’s MDLR airlines. The victim was found dead on August 5, 2012 at her Ashok Vihar residence in North West Delhi.

Geetika Sharama Suicide Case
Police had recovered a sucide note from the residence of air-hostess Geetika Sharma, in which she had mentioned the names of Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda and Aruna Chadha who was a senior manager in the company MDLR.

She accused the two behind her intentions of taking the extreme step of ending her life. In the letter, she alleged that Aruna and Gopal Goyal are “liars, cheaters and crook” who ruined her life and also trying to sabotage her family members.
Mother also died by suicide
Six month after her death, Geetika’s mother also died by suicide, also blaming Gopal Kanda for her death.
Kanda was in jail for 18 months, got bail in 2014
Gopal Kanda was serving his sentence in jail for 18 months in the Geetika Sharma suicide case but got bail in March 2014.
At present, Goyal is representing Sirsa constituency as MLA in Legislative Assembly from Haryana Lokhit Party. Haryana Lokhit Party is the political party of Gopal Kanda. He was the Home Minister of Haryana in the Congress government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
