Gyanvapi: The Allahabad High Court on Friday ordered carbon dating of the alleged Shivling present in the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi. The High Court has issued directions reversing the earlier order given by the Varanasi District Judge. It has been told that earlier, the Varanasi District Judge rejected the application for carbon dating filed by the Hindu side.
It has been said in a report that the bench of Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra of the High Court has given this order. He has taken this decision after reviewing the report presented by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The High Court has said in its order that this survey should be done without damaging the structure (the alleged Shivling).
It has been said in the report that a demand was made by the Hindu side for the carbon dating of the alleged Shivling in court. It has been told that earlier, the Archaeological Survey of India had submitted a report in a sealed cover to the court, which was considered by the court. Now it will be ascertained from this survey whether the structure present on the premises is a Shivling as per the claim or something else.
According to the information, carbon dating is done to find out the exact age of anything. The carbon dating process is exclusively used by the Department of Archaeology. So that the correct information about the idols and structures found in the search can be ascertained. Carbon dating is claimed to be the age of anything that contains carbon.
