Jharkhand: In a tragic incident, a Spanish women on Friday night was gang raped by seven men in Jharkhand’s Dumka, around 300 km from state capital Ranchi. The victim shared the horrific incident on Instagram – a social media platform, stating that an incident happened to them which they don’t wish on anyone. She further informed that seven people raped her.

A Spanish woman and her partner, traveling from Bangladesh to Bihar and Nepal on motorcycles, fell victim to a brutal assault in Dumka, Jharkhand. The couple, robbed and beaten while halting for the night, revealed the attackers’ intent to sexually assault the woman. Three arrests have been made, and a police manhunt is underway for the remaining suspects.
Dumka Superintendent of Police, Pitambar Singh Kherwar, reported that a patrolling team discovered the distressed couple by the roadside at 11 pm on Friday. Speaking in Spanish, the couple was brought to a local hospital by the police. It was there that the survivors disclosed the sexual assault incident.

The police immediately initiated an investigation, forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the matter. Detained suspects confessed to their involvement, revealing additional names. Raids, assisted by forensic teams and the CID, are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused.
The survivor is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital. The incident has sparked outrage, with Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi demanding stringent action against the police, expressing concern over the impact on tourism and the state’s law and order. The matter was also addressed in the Jharkhand Assembly during the budget session, where state minister Mithilesh Thakur assured that those responsible for the crime would face severe consequences.
