J & K encounter

J&K encounter: An encounter between security forces and terrorists once again took place in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. (J&K encounter) It is noted that on Friday, five army soldiers were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri. Earlier, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Baramulla on Thursday while two terrorists were killed by security personnel in Kupwara on Wednesday.

Baramulla SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure said that some suspicious activities were reported. After this a cordon and search operation was carried out. Meanwhile, firing was done from the already present terrorists towards us, after which one terrorist was killed in retaliation. He said that in view of the G20 summit, our army is alert and we are neutralizing the threat and the G20 summit will be held successfully.

J&K encounter: Baramulla

Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Baramulla district on Thursday. Police said incriminating material, arms and ammunition including an AK 47 rifle and a pistol were recovered.

According to the police, the two terrorists killed in the encounter are locals and belong to banned terror outfit Lashkar. They have been identified as Shakir Majeed Nazar and Hanan Ahmed Sheh of Shopian district. Both had joined militancy in March 2023.

Kupwara encounter

Earlier on Wednesday, two terrorists were killed after an infiltration bid was foiled by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army near Pichnad Machil sector in Kupwara.

Srinagar-based Defense Spokesman Col Amron Mousavi said troops were put on high alert on Monday based on specific intelligence provided by Kupwara Senior Superintendent of Police about a possible infiltration from a terrorist launch pad towards the Machil sector of the LoC.
