Tragedy struck in Thrissur, Kerala, where a man set fire to his sleeping son, daughter-in-law, and grandson during a domestic dispute on Thursday morning. The man, identified as Kottekkattil Johnson, residing near Mannuthy in the Thrissur district, set fire to their bedroom due to ongoing family conflicts.
Consequently, the victims, his son Joji, daughter-in-law Liji, and grandson Tendulkar, suffered severe injuries. Tragically, Joji and Tendulkar, who were receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam, succumbed to their injuries. Liji, the daughter-in-law, remains in critical condition.

Following the heinous act, Johnson attempted suicide by consuming poison and was subsequently admitted to a hospital in Thrissur. He also sustained minor burns during the incident. The police discovered Johnson unconscious on the house’s terrace during their search.
Neighbours revealed that Johnson and his son had been embroiled in ongoing disputes for approximately two years. When local residents noticed smoke coming out from the house, they promptly intervened to extinguish the fire and alerted the authorities.
