Pallavi Dempo, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for South Goa in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, has declared her assets and those of her husband, Shrinivas Dempo, to be nearly Rs 1,400 crore. Her nomination was filed on Tuesday with an accompanying 119-page affidavit that revealed her financial standing. The affidavit showcases her net worth and that of her husband, chairman of the Dempo group—a conglomerate with interests in football, real estate, shipbuilding, education, and mining.

Pallavi’s assets include movable assets worth Rs 255.4 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 28.2 crore. Her husband’s assets comprise Rs 994.8 crore in movable assets and Rs 83.2 crore in immovable properties. Notably, the Dempo couple jointly owns apartments abroad: one in Savanna Dubai, valued at Rs 2.5 crore, and another in London, valued at Rs 10 crore.
Pallavi’s affinity for gold is evident from her affidavit, which reports her ownership of gold valued at Rs 5.7 crore. In terms of income, Pallavi filed income-tax returns amounting to Rs 10 crore for the financial year 2022-23, while Shrinivas filed returns totaling Rs 11 crore for the same period.

Pallavi Dempo is a political newcomer but brings a strong educational background, holding a postgraduate degree in business management from MIT, Pune University. Her entry into the political arena marks a new chapter in her career, as she takes on the challenge of representing the BJP in South Goa and possibly shaping the future of the region through her political initiatives.
The upcoming general elections are slated to take place into seven places in the country, while the voting for the first phase is scheduled on April 19. However, the counting of votes will take place in June 4.
