New Delhi: Delhi’s Social Welfare Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Rajendra Pal Gautam on Sunday resigned from his post.
The resignation comes after his presence at a religious event held recently in New Delhi.

Gautam received criticism after his presence at a religious event earlier this week where hundreds of people allegedly denounced Hinduism and adopted Buddhism.
A video of the event, which later went viral, showed him attending the event on October 5 when hundreds took a pledge to convert to Buddhism and not consider Hindu deities as gods.
Following this, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched an attack against AAP and demanded the dismissal of the minister.
