The Delhi Traffic Police announced that traffic restrictions will be implemented to ensure smooth management and security during the process of depositing EVM and VVPAT machines in the strong room at the Commonwealth Games Village on Saturday, May 25, following the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. These restrictions will be effective from 6:00 pm to 12 midnight.
Police have advised commuters to avoid specific routes, use public transport, and plan their travel carefully to prevent delays. “Alternative routes are available, and commuters can access up-to-date information through Delhi Traffic Police’s various platforms. Cooperation and adherence to traffic rules are appreciated to ensure smooth traffic management,” the release stated. To ensure smooth traffic flow and an uninterrupted journey, commuters are advised to take the designated routes on May 25.

Commuters traveling from Sarai Kale Khan/MGM towards NH-24 should continue straight towards the Akshardham flyover, then turn left to reach Pusta Road, ITO, or Vikas Marg to get to their destinations. Those coming from ITO/Pusta Road should drive up to the Akshardham Flyover, make a U-turn after crossing it, and continue on NH-24 towards Delhi to reach their destinations.

Police have requested commuters to avoid or bypass the mentioned roads if possible and to use public transport to reach their destinations. They also advised people traveling to ISBT, railway stations, or airports to carefully plan their travel with ample time.
