A sex racket was busted by the Delhi Police in the Paharganj area. The cops rescued 23 women, including three minors and 10 Nepalese nationals. A joint operation was carried out by Paharganj Police Station, Shraddhanand Police Marg Post, and Himmatgarh Police Post and rescued the women.
The police arrested seven persons who were allegedly involved in human trafficking. A senior police official said they received inputs that illegal trade was operated in the area. They pit surveillance to trace the accused, who allegedly lured women of Bengal and Nepal on false promises and forced them into prostitution.
These women were kept at a house before they were sent to different hotels.
The officials said that the cops pretended as fake customers at the location traced on surveillance and raided the spots. He said once the locations were confirmed, the police teams raided and rescued 23 women, including three minors and 10 Nepalese nationals. He said the women were transported to hotels through scooters.
The accused have been identified as Nurshed Alam, Mohammed Rahul Alam, Abdul Mannan, Taushif Rexa, Shamim Alam, Mohammed Jarul, and Monish.
