New Delhi: Taking cognizance of an accident off the Mumbai coast two days ago, the defense authorities decided to halt the ALH Dhruv helicopters operations until the investigators find the reason for the incident.
The ALH choppers are being operated by all three armed forces including the Army, Navy and Air force, and Indian Coast Guard as well.
Taking to the News Agency ANI an official said ” The operation has been stopped till the time investigators find out the reason for the incident off the Mumbai coast and precautionary checks are carried out”.
The ALH Dhruv helicopters are one of the crucial factors for Indian Defence forces as it helps transport men and material.
As per the ANI report, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has already initiated steps and will intimidate work with the customers to ensure that the chopper’s fleet is entirely operational.
The ALH Dhruv is often used in all three forces in important helicopter missions and over time it has become an essential aspect of defense forces.
During the incident that took place two days back, an Indian Navy ALH Dhruv who was on a routine flying movement experienced a sudden power and rapid loss of height.
