Congress Enlists 43 Candidates In Its Second List For Lok Sabha 2024 Polls

The Congress party has announced its second list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, comprising 43 names.

Nakul Nath, the son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, will be contesting from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. He currently holds the position of sitting MP from the same constituency. Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has been nominated as the Congress candidate from Jalore in Rajasthan.

Gaurav Gogoi, the son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, has been selected as the Congress candidate from Jorhat. He currently serves as the sitting MP from the Kaliabor constituency.

The Congress’s second list includes 12 candidates from Assam, 7 from Gujarat, 10 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan, and 1 from Daman and Diu.

As per Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, 76.7% of the candidates included in the list are from minority, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Castes categories.
