New District in Assam: In the 100th cabinet meeting, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday made a big announcement to create four new districts in the state to improve administrative efficiency.
The cabinet also approved the formation of 81 new sub-districts.
This is being done after the completion of the delimitation process in Assam. According to reports of North East Now, Hojai, Biswanath, Tamulpur, and Bajali will be the new four districts of the state.
Number of districts in Assam
According to news agency PTI, Sarma said that we have reorganized four new districts and it is co-bordering the assembly constituencies declared by the Election Commission under delimitation. After the formation of new districts, there will be a total of 35 districts in Assam.
