Police arrested a 26-year-old man for killing his four-year-old son as a “sacrifice” in Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh.

The incident occurred in the Shankargarh region on Saturday night. Kamlesh Nagesia, who was sleeping with his family, woke up while others slept in different rooms. He first chopped a hen on his porch, then brought his elder son outside the room, according to police reports.

While his younger son and wife were still asleep, Kamlesh slit the throat of his son, Avinash, killing him instantly. When the child’s mother woke up after midnight and frantically searched for Avinash, Kamlesh calmly told her he had killed their son as a “sacrifice.” Chaos erupted as family members rushed to check on Avinash, only to find him dead.

The police were informed, a case was filed against Kamlesh, and he was subsequently arrested.

Immediate Action Was Taken By Chhattisgarh Police

Police noted that Kamlesh had been mentally unstable for the past two days, experiencing hallucinations and expressing the need to “sacrifice” someone. The family, concerned about his mental state, did not anticipate such a horrific act. Police officials have taken Kamlesh into custody, sent the child’s body for a post-mortem, and are investigating the matter further.
