A bus carrying pilgrims to Shiv Khori temple plunges into a gorge on the Jammu-Poonch highway inReasi district, Jammu & Kashmir leaving at least 21 dead and 55 injured. The Bus carrying passengers from Hathras and travelling to Shiv Khori, Jammu.

On May 30, 2024, the pilgrim-filled bus crashed on the Jammu-Poonch highway. Initial reports say the driver lost control near Taryath, causing the devastating plunge. The scene turns chaotic as rescue teams from police, army, and locals scramble to retrieve victims and deliver urgent medical aid.

Eyewitnesses describe a harrowing scene with the mangled bus at the gorge’s bottom. Local authorities, including the Reasi district administration, rush to the site and coordinate rescue and relief efforts. The injured, some critical, are transported to nearby medical facilities, with the most severe cases transferred to Jammu hospitals.
